    Red face

Well after boosting my D16y7 non-vtec for 8 months at 14psi, the piston rings in the #4 cylinder gave up. For the SOHC guys here are a few notes and experiences that I observed:

    - There is no substitue for a good tuner!!!!

    - The Honda stock fuel injectors can hold up to 10psi at 90psi of fuel pressure

    - The water injection system really works well in reducing intake temps and detonation especially when you are spraying a 50/50 mixture of methanol(not ethanol) and water.
    - The stock ignition system is all you will need when running a JRSC.

    - At 14psi I did not experience detonation until 6.2K - redline

    - Dyno numbers indicated 172.6 HP and 137.2 lb/ft of torque at 14 psi and 150.1 HP and 127.2lb/ft @ 9psi

    Other mods included:
    4-1 Kamikazi header
    Jackson Racing upgraded fuel pump
Jackson Racing water injection intercooler system with custom water reservoir
    Custom exhaust
    Magnacore ignition wires
    MSD distributor cap
    MSD external ignition coil
MSD 6BTM Boost Timing Retard Module
    etc.

Conclusion: Stay at 10psi or lower....happy boosting guys.

Sorry to hear that...makes me feel good about my SOHC though! Can I hammer you with a bunch of questions as they are pertinate to my setup?

What size exhaust where you running?
    Was the head stock?
    Was the bottom end stock?
What pulley ratio were you running to get 14psi? What elevation were you at?
No other fuel management other than what's mentioned - ouch.

ouch-is correct...but I am surprise the motor held up so long to all the abuse.

By the way TJ, what compression are you running and did you have endyn mod your SC and your motor or just the SC?
    Nice numbers.
